Flauto Dolce Recorder Festival

I confess I’ve always thought of the recorder as that slightly dull instrument played by primary school pupils (I’ve still got mine at the back of the wardrobe), but apparently the instrument has a long and rich history. In this Recorder Festival, which I popped into on a hot Sunday afternoon, María Ayerza looked at recorder music from the Spanish Renaissance, with the help of young recorder players. This definitely made me appreciate the humble recorder more.
