Allies in the Ardennes is a new play by Dave Flanagan, the first production I saw by the Woodhouse Players at the Welsh Church Hall in Leytonstone. It’s about a soldier, Frank, who finds himself lost in the Ardennes in the company of a younger American soldier and, eventually, a deserting German. As he tries to survive, he calls on memories of home, and we see flashbacks of his former life with his friend Jack and his wife Lily.
Allies in the Ardennes is a moving play that has you rooting for Frank and his fellow soldiers. It’s well performed by all involved and I was impressed with the production.
