Bell, Book and Candle is a romantic comedy by John Van Druten that was made into a film with James Stewart and Kim Novak. It is the story of Gillian Holroyd, a youthful witch who falls in love with her upstairs neighbour. Unfortunately, witches cannot fall in love with mortals, so she must choose between her magical powers and her romantic longings.
I saw an amateur production at Beckenham Theatre. I enjoyed the show, which was amusing, and the cast played their roles well.
