The Life

The students at Arts Educational Schools London performed The Life at their theatre in west London. The musical, with a book by David Newman, Ira Gasman and Cy Coleman, music by Coleman, and lyrics by Gasman, was originally performed in the 1990s and follows a group of New York hookers on 42nd Street in the 1980s, before the area was cleaned up and ‘Disneyfied’. This production was fabulous, and was one of the few to which I gave a standing ovation during 2016. I can’t wait until the professional production at the Southwark Playhouse next year.
