When We Are Married

When We Are Married is a comedy by J.B. Priestley, here revived in a hugely enjoyable touring production co-produced by Northern Broadsides and York Theatre Royal, directed by Barrie Rutter. Set in 1908, the story tells of three middle-aged couples who discover, to their horror, that their marriages are not valid. A very funny comedy ensues, when the husbands try desperately to solve the problem and the wives begin to wonder if they really want to be married after all. This is a hugely fun comedy that has lost none of its appeal in the last century.
