Washed Up is a short one-act play performed at the Compass Theatre Studio by the Purple Theatre Company. Written and directed by Dominic Parford and Christopher McMullen, it involves three actors who end up stranded on a desert island after the ship carrying them to a filming location sinks en route. One is an older Shakespearean actor, pretentious and a bit of a luvvie; one is a young hell-raiser of a film star; and one is an Internet celebrity in a baseball cap. Flashbacks help us understand who they are as people, while it is fun to watch them interact.
This was a fun short play with many laugh-out-loud moments. The actors did a good job and overall it was an enjoyable experience. I particularly enjoyed the final filmed sequence showing the trailer for the film the actors were shooting!
